Let’s dig deeper into what we’ll cover together
The Immune Health program consists of 6 live weekly webinars and Q&A sessions, plus TWO pre-recorded bonus sessions.
It’s everything you need to start making simple, manageable changes to what you eat and you lifestyle, to improve your health and the health of your family.
What is Food (Bonus Session)
Most of us have never really stopped to consider what food is. We know that an apple is better for us than a Mars Bar, but beyond taste and satiation of hunger or ‘good’ and ‘bad’ foods, we may not understand much about food itself.
This webinar introduces you to food. What is food exactly? Why do we need food at all and what does food do inside the body. What is food actually made of and why does this matter?
How food affects the immune system (Bonus Session)
Food and dietary pattern have a profound effect on the immune system via various mechanisms. This webinar looks at how food can worsen immune health and responses and make you more susceptible to infection or illness, and what are the features of food that enhance the immune system and help to create resilience in health and immunity and also in our general health.
Balancing your plate and your blood sugar
Our first webinar focuses on a fundamental concept for metabolic health. We know that people who have compromised metabolic health, which is a significant underlying mechanism of diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease are at greater risk of infection and have poorer outcomes when they are ill. This webinar teaches you not how to go on a diet, but to learn for yourself how your body responds to foods and how to adjust your plate accordingly. It’s not about deprivation, but about knowing yourself well and having tools to support your body and it’s needs.
Eating the Rainbow
Eating the rainbow is a common catch phrase in the health industry right now, and for good reason, it’s great for you! Especially for immune health. But what does is actually mean?
In this webinar we look at the science behind the hashtag and work out how to practically incorporate this into your daily meals. What to eat. How much to eat and how to make it delicious and fun.
The buddies in my belly
How’s this for a blow-your-mind fact: more immune activity takes place in your gut in one day than takes place in your internal immune system in an entire lifetime. Translation? If your gut isn’t working properly, you won’t be able to make positive changes to your health. This is the case even if you don’t have any symptoms in the gut itself.
The gut is the place where you digest and absorb food, so if you’re not able to transform food in the way your body needs to function effectively, that’s going to have a huge impact on the way you’re able to live your life. You won’t have the resources to build new tissue, to repair damaged tissue, and to make energy to perform all the tasks you need to perform every day. That’s why all immune-focused work includes the gut. The gut is really the ‘heart’ of the body.
In this webinar we look at the gut bacteria and how they are involved in health and infection. We also look at what you can eat and do to make sure you have tip-top gut health and how to avoid the marketing pitfalls around probiotic foods and supplements.
You can take all the supplements in the world, but if you’re stressed and sleeping badly, your health isn’t going to improve.
Life provides infinite numbers of stressors but your body only has one stress response: using stress hormones. Even when the stressors are different, your body can’t distinguish between them. This means that every time your stress hormones are triggered, they override all your other bodily functions – like digestion! Remember how it all comes back to the gut?
The more stressed your body feels, the less able it is to do its job properly. We’ll look at how to reduce stress, improve sleep, move your body to promote healthy function, as well as several strategies to ensure that you have the right mindset, lots of joy in your life, and you’re giving your body the best chance to heal.
Most of us are chronically under slept. Sleep is my NUMBER ONE anti-viral tool and immune system ‘drug’, but it’s not that simple is it!
This module covers why sleep is important, and how to address issues around sleep so that you get not just more sleep, but better quality sleep as well.
We all know how important exercise and fitness is, but from an immune system perspective, too much activity or the wrong kind of activity can be as detrimental as not enough. Learn how to know how much movement you need to do to change your immune system, how not to over-do it in the beginning and how to move your body towards health.
